"To see a world in a grain of sand, And a heaven in a wild flower; Hold infinity in the palm of your hand, And eternity in an hour." – William Blake

Home Sweet Home

January 31st, 2010 by sunflowers

I know you aren’t suppose to run away from your problems. But this last month since the accident has been really stressful and as I get nearer and nearer to home I feel like the problems of the last month are slowly melting away. I still need to figure out what to do with my bike and see a doctor about my shoulder but it will be nice to be home.

“For every failure, there’s an alternative course of action. You just have to find it. When you come to a roadblock, take a detour.” I like this quote, I’m in no way suggesting you have failed though :) , anything but, just trying to say there’s nothing wrong with re-evaluating goals to fit your situation. Don’t sweat the small stuff, as really, its nearly always small stuff..

    Annette,

What an adventure you have had. MEMORIES MEMORIES MEMORIES. I truly hope that your shoulder makes a speedy and complete recovery.
I expect that life will seem a little boring after you have settled in to SOCIETY again.

I ENJOYED your blog immensely. Am planning a similar trip as soon as I get the old scooter renovated and arrange 6 months of free time. Your trip was as inspiration. MAny friends from Central America could not believe that you solo-ed thru there – they will not drive a car home from USA.

Best Wishes on your life path – “It is the soul afraid of dying that never learns to live”.

Hi Annette. Not sure if you remember me, but we met about a year ago in Guatemala–me and my buddy gave you a compass while we were staying at the hostel. Anyway, I was surprised to read about your accident. That scared me, however, so glad that you have survived! As you ponder your next “goals”, I want you to know that having met you and following your adventure on your blog has had a positive influence on my life. I admire what you have done, not only for yourself, but for other adventure seekers as well. I’m thinking about taking a 6 month sabbatical next year, thanks to courageous people such as you.
    God speed!

Annette, Congratulation! All your friends, everybody said the same. But I need to say also, congratulations about all the fantastic effort you made and about all the inspiration you are with this life story of so many miles, kilometres, days… unique days in a life.

Annette from Portugal, one big hug!
    …hope you can make a ‘take2′ of a journey .. a dream!
