Near Chiclayo was a ‘world class’ museum based around the burial tomb of a pre-Inca lord. I showed up at Court’s and Sylvan’s hotel after we agreed that we would leave at eight thirty to get to the museum when it opened.. They were finally ready to leave by two in the afternoon so by the time we had gone to the museum we didn’t get on the road until four and ended up riding in the dark until about eight o’clock and camping the night on the main street of a tiny fishing village which was pretty cool.
Inca Kola is the favourite local soft drink. It is electric yellow and tastes like creaming soda. And we passed a truck had two layers of people in it.
