"To see a world in a grain of sand, And a heaven in a wild flower; Hold infinity in the palm of your hand, And eternity in an hour." William Blake

El Brujo

August 26th, 2009 by sunflowers

The next morning with a good proportion of the town standing around our camp site it only took the guys two hours to get ready to leave and we were on the road by nine. We stopped off at El Brujo which housed an ancient ceremonial complex and museum about the burial tomb of an important female ruler to the Moche (pre-Inca) culture and was everything I was expecting the other museum to be (the price included a guide) and the descriptions were both in Spanish and English. I also had a chat to the witchdoctor about having a San Pedro (hallucinogenic cactus) ceremony but it took too long to prepare for. The road to El Brujo was too muddy for the bikes so I had to take a Tuktuk to visit.
